If you're wondering why Mark Richt let so many Georgia players get away to other SEC programs. It'bilde
s because there's so many recruits in the state.

There are currently 231 high school commitments to the current 12 SEC programs. Of those pledges, the state of Georgia leads the way with 58, which equates to 25.1 percent.

The state of Florida takes the second spot with 32 and Louisiana third at 22. In another surprise, the state of Tennessee has the fourth most with 19. Alabama and Mississippi both have 17 while North Carolina has nine, South Carolina eight, Kentucky six and Arkansas four. Thirty recruits from outside the the southern region have committed to the SEC schools.

Every SEC school has at least one commit from the Peach State, but it’s not the University of Georgia with the most. The Gamecocks have 11 from Georgia on their 2012 commit list while the Dawgs have nine and Crimson Tide have eight. South Carolina has twice as many commitments from the state of Georgia than it does from its own state (four)
