Johathan Taylor is fast:
Q: Do you expect to play right away, or with JOhn Jenkins and Kwame Geathers up there do you expect to sit and learn?
Taylor: No, the coaches have been telling me that since they're a little low on defensive lineman if I come in (to campus) in shape I could possibly play.Q: So could you play nose or end?
Taylor: They said I could play three- or five-technique.
Q: What did you do in high school?
Taylor: I played everything on defense. Really on defensive line, I was the nose guard, then I played some defensive end.Q: What's your weight now:
Taylor: Six-four, 290.
Q: Do you feel like you need to get the weight up any?
Taylor: I'm trying to get my speed and my strength together. But I want to (run) about a 4.6, 4.5.

Don't play Mitchell both ways:
#1 - His greatest potential is at the receiver position. Malcolm had a fantastic freshman season, catching 45 passes for 665 yards and four touchdowns. And he did it while missing three full games to injury. While those numbers are not quite AJ Green level, they are comparable to Mohammed Massaquoi (38 for 505, 2), Fred Gibson (33 for 772, 6) and Terrence Edwards (53 for 772). Mitchell has the potential to be one of the best receivers in Georgia history, why divert his attention?
#2 - Speaking of those three games he missed, is it worth it to risk an injury. He got hurt running a simple deep route and it took a month to recover. AJ Green ended up missing a lot of time due to injury and I don't want that to happen to Malcolm.
#3 - Playing Mitchell at corner this year will not help us prepare for 2013. The entire second will graduate after this year. We need to get some experience in those young players like Bowman, Swann, and Dawson. Let them fill in Commings role against Buffalo and Missouri. In case anyone else gets hurt, at least these guys will have some real experience.

The Lady Sportswriter comments on Red and Black article (Commings):
To this point the investigation into Commings' altercation with his girlfriend continues to be ongoing and none of us, no matter what we might believe or have read, is able to clearly place any assumptions on what happened that night until all the facts have been made available. That said, any rushes to judgment are likely to be met with a certain degree of vitriol—as Ms. Marshall unfortunately had to find out (the comment section after her post is not pretty to say the least. Even still, you have to give her credit for taking a stand even if you don't agree with what she had to say. She had to know she was taking a risk by writing that piece).
On a personal level, I feel that if it comes to light that Commings did what was alleged at the start, he should not be allowed to remain on the team. I'm all for second-chances but physical abuse against women, children, or the elderly is where I draw the line. There simply is no gray area there for me.
For now, though, I am willing to allow the justice system to do it's job before I fully condemn Richt, or the University of Georgia for "dropping the ball".

National title contenders:
The SEC has claimed the last six national titles and there’s certainly no shortage of options to claim No. 7 in 2012. However, each of the four likely contenders – Alabama, Arkansas, Georgia and LSU – has significant question marks. For LSU, how will new quarterback Zach Mettenberger perform? Alabama will have several new faces on defense and must replace running back Trent Richardson and center William Vlachos. Georgia got off to a slow start last year, but rallied to finish with 10 wins and the SEC East title. For the Bulldogs to contend in 2012, they have to rebuild an offensive line that loses three key players. Arkansas has inched closer to the top of the SEC West, but its defense must make strides in order to challenge for the national title.

SEC has 12 more games this year - who will televise them?
CBS - I don't think so. Since they have their US Open tennis obligations, plus their windows are exclusive, it would be tough for CBS to add to their package of games.
ESPN/ESPN2/ESPNU - I could see a game or two being added here. There's only 24 hours in the day. Possibly another Thursday night game.
SEC Network - Not likely. I don't think they want to do split telecasts in the 12:21pm ET slot.
Regional Cable (FOX & CSS) - Possible beneficiaries. Could see them each getting a couple more telecasts.
ESPN3 - The wildcard. ESPN3 doesn't televise any games exclusively from the SEC today, but it makes sense that the broadband network could receive these new games. If I were the SEC I would try to push that they be non-conference games.[Matt's College Sports Media Blog]

Ex-Gator LB busts a...er...move:
James Bates is actually an interesting story. He joined CBS Sports Network from The Mtn in 2011 and is perhaps most notable as a defensive captain for the 1996 Florida Gators national championship team as a linebacker. His father Jim and brother Jeremy both coached in the NFL. In this instance, his football background definitely came in handy as he shakes off the fall still ready to rock and even more excited for the game. He even seamlessly fits the broken stool into his open!

Mizzou fans will have to stay in the stadium:
No Pass Outs - In the past, our fans have been able to enter the stadium for the game, exit during the game and re-enter the game. That will not be possible in 2012 and beyond. There will be no "pass-outs" allowed beginning 2012. Once our fans enter the game, they will need to stay in the stadium throughout the contest. If they exit, they will not be allowed to re-enter.
